Russian Helicopters, part of State Corporation Rostec, will showcase its new commercial models at Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA-2015), which takes place on the Malaysian island of Langkawi on 17-21 March.
At LIMA-2015 Russian Helicopters will showcase the multirole Mi-171A2 and Ansat helicopters. The new Mi-171A2 is a medium helicopter built using the latest technologies and engineering solutions. It is a reliable and safe aircraft that sets new standards for medium-class helicopters worldwide. The Mi-171A2 is currently undergoing the final stages of testing.
The light Ansat is one of the most in-demand models in its class of helicopters with lift capacity of up to one and a half tonnes, and has been the subject of great interest from public- and private-sector bodies in Malaysia. The aircraft has the most spacious cabin in its class, and its configuration can be changed depending on its designated purpose. The Ansat can be used for passenger flights (including VIP class) as well as hauling cargo, and can also be deployed on police operations or to fly search-and-rescue and medevac missions.
At LIMA-2015 Russian Helicopters plans to hold talks with Malaysian state company AIROD and the country's firefighting department BOMBA, both of which are considering the acquisition of a new consignment of multirole Mi-8/17 series helicopters. Today these helicopters are among the most widely used in the world.
In addition, Russian Helicopters jointly with Rosoboronexport will discuss opportunities for supplying the Mi-35M, Mi-171Sh and Mi-171V-5 to the security forces of Malaysia and other countries in South-East Asia.
