Royal Thai Air Force Selects IFS Application to Maintain Fighter Planes

IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that the Directorate of Aeronautical Engineering (DAE), Royal Thai Air Force has chosen to deploy IFS Applications to manage the maintenance of the Force’s fleet of 25 F-5E/F fighter planes’ jet engines.

The DAE required a solution with strong maintenance capabilities to manage its fleet of fighter planes that includes operating 47 J85-GE-21B/C jet engines.

The organization chose IFS Applications to support its ongoing maintenance processes and to ensure availability of the aircraft at all times. The local consultancy support which IFS is able to provide also played a key role in the RTAF’s decision.

The DAE has moved from a combination of legacy and paper-based systems to IFS Applications 8 with the further possibility of later taking advantage of increased mobility within the IFS solution.

By eliminating the manual and paper-based processes, the DAE will significantly improve the accuracy of maintenance information available to engineers on the ground.

IFS Applications will also assist the RTAF in managing processes with third party suppliers, and improving collaboration to ensure that the right part is available at the right time.

IFS expects the customer to go live with the first phase of implementation at the Engine Maintenance Division, DAE at Don Muang Air Force Base in January 2016.

The solution will then be rolled out to Wing 21 in Ubon Ratchathani Royal Thai Air Force base, which is the home of F-5E/F fighter plane.
