THE Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) on April 15 launched three bilateral exercises in conjunction with its Semangat Waja Exercise.
A ceremony for the Maju Bersama Exercise was held at the RBLF Second Battalion in Tutong Camp attended by Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Chief of Staff, General Staff, Brigadier General Lim Hock Yu, and Deputy RBLF Commander Colonel Hj Muhd Haszaimi Bol Hassan. This year marks the 20th series of the bilateral exercise between RBLF and the Singapore Army.since it was first conducted in 1984.
Bilateral exercise between RBLF and the Singapore Army was opened at the RBLF Support Battalion Headquarters in Penanjong Garrison.
Codenamed Rintis Bersama, the exercise was launched in 1989 and involved combat engineers from both armies.
Present as the guests of honour were RBLF Support Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Abidin Hj Timbang and SAF’s Combat Engineer Commander Lieutenant Colonel Ho Sze Tek.
The RBLF Third Battalion Parade Square in Lumut Camp also saw the start of Parang Kukri Exercise between the RBLF and the First Battalion Royal Gurkha Regiment (1RGR). In attendance was RBLF Chief of Staff Colonel Khairul Hamed Hj Lampoh.
All three bilateral exercises will take place up to April 26 with the aim of improving interoperability and enhancing professionalism between the forces. (The Brunei Times)
